2021 is the 181st commemoration of the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi). This year’s Vector Lights show features a range of designs that represent the locations where the treaty was signed and some of the Treaty signatories.

The storyline for Vector Lights for Matariki Festival 2020 comes to us from Professor Rangi Matamua, recognised expert on Māori starlore and author of the books, Matariki – The Star of the Year and Matariki, Te Whetū Tapu o Te Tau.

2020 is the 180th commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.  This year’s story is brought to us by Waikato-Tainui.

The Department of Conservation (DOC) has joined with Vector Lights and Auckland Council to showcase New Zealand’s unique wildlife with an Auckland Harbour Bridge light show between Saturday 14 September and Sunday 22 September.
