Change makers

  • We don't accept the status quo.
  • We act with urgency. We change and adapt or we lose our relevancy to the future.
  • We are relentless self-starters always asking, "how will this action move Vector forward?"
  • Others will follow our enthusiasm for innovation to meet our Symphony goals.
  • We shape the future.

Consider it. Done.

  • We consider options and don’t jump at the first solution.
  • We give a problem appropriate consideration then act.
  • We have the flexibility to adjust on the move. We don’t agonise over having the ‘perfect strategy’ or answer, nor use it as an excuse for not acting. We make a decision and move forward.
  • We have a bias for action with confident evidence-based decisions.

We, not me

  • We are open and engaging.
  • We know we don’t have all the answers, but we have the ability together, to solve and act.
  • We share our time, knowledge and skills widely and often.
  • We get to know people properly to know who to shoulder tap for support and innovation.
  • We can hold a healthy debate and defend our position, but still walk away as collaborators unified on our decisions.
  • When we make decisions, we consider what is in the interest of the wider organisation. Vector first.

Customer. Customer. Customer.

  • Prior to making decisions, we have considered customer perspectives and impacts.
  • Our customers are becoming increasingly diverse and have unique wants and needs.
  • When we’re faced with tough decisions, we’re guided by doing what’s right for customers.
  • We’re shifting to become a customer information network. That means we must relentlessly pursue a better understanding of customers and their aspirations in every aspect of the business.

Own it

  • We own the outcomes of the entire business, not just our crew.
  • We own the actions of our teams.
  • We own our views and aren’t afraid to express them.
  • We own team decisions and back them.
  • We say what we’re going to do. And do it.

Walk in others' shoes

  • We have the ability to hold a view while simultaneously recognising and appreciating the perspectives of others.
  • This requires a good level of self-awareness, understanding how and why we react to things. It’s through this value that I can see the impact I have on others.
  • We take care to understand each other in a working context.
